Spanish Architect Ricardo Bofill dies at 82

The renowned architect Ricardo Bofill has passed away on January the 14th, 2022.


The founder and leader of Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura (RBTA), dies at the age of 82, leaving an incredible legacy of architecture in Spain and abroad.


Ricardo Bofill studied architecture at the Geneva University of Art and Design in Switzerland. RBTA was founded when he was 23 in Barcelona.


Among the recognitions received by Bofill are: The Ciudad de Barcelona Prize of Architecture, The Israelí Building Center’s Life Time Achievement Award. the honorary fellow of the American Institute of Architects and the Association of German Architects.


Bofill was considered one of the most relevant Spanish architects of the past decades. He will be missed by all the architectural community.
