Introduction
The International Biennial of Academic Architecture Adventist (BIAAA) is the space for dialogue and exchange of ideas that generate solutions for the mission in the area of architecture, with the aim of developing the identity of the Adventist architect committed to society with a service vision.
The invitation is for the students of the different schools of architecture of the Adventist university institutions and for all the professionals of architecture or construction. This event is held every two years in different countries being the Universidad Peruana Unión (Lima, Peru) place of the II BIAAA 2019.
THE BIAAA
The International Biennial of Adventist Academic Architecture (BIAAA) is a non-profit event that takes place every two years in a different country from the Network of Adventist Architecture Schools with headquarters in the USA, Peru, Brazil, Mexico and South Korea. The BIAAA was started in 2017 as a concerted effort between the architecture schools of the Universidad Peruana Union (Peru), the Centro Universitario Adventista de São Paulo (Brazil), Andrews University (United States), the Universidad de Montemorelos (Mexico) and Sahmyook University (South Korea). The BIAAA main purpose is to bring together designers, professors and students to get involved and reinterpret the design process considering community service as an essential principle. Therefore, the importance of the BIAAA lies in becoming a space to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the social architecture, and its impact on the Adventist community and in today’s society.
The BIAAA 2019, titled “Territories by Stories”, is organized by UPeU School of Architecture, where there will be the attendance of distinguished experts, academics, professionals and emerging offices of South American countries. The BIAAA 2019, through its conferences, discussions, publications and workshops; invites the public to reflect on how the social architecture and its connection to the territory is expanding its project horizons to strengthen its transcendence in academic fields and society.
