It is our pleasure to announce that the BAM Ranking 2023 has been released, thanks to the collaboration of the different Universities that participated in this year’s study and the effort of our highly qualified Committee of Experts, formed by 15 international academic architects from some of the best universities around the world.

The 2023 edition of the QS World University Rankings has been released. The Quacquarelli Symonds Ranking is perhaps the most significant rankings of Universities around the world. In 2023 their ranking by subject evaluated a total of 54 disciplines, grouped into five broad subject areas: Arts & Humanities, Engineering & Technology, Life Sciences & Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences & Management. The discipline of Architecture is part of the field Arts & Humanities.
London architect David Chipperfield has been announced as the winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize 2023, organized by the Pritzker Foundation.

Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, founders of SANAA, were announced as the 2022 Architecture category winners of the Praemium Imperiale Award granted by The Japan Art Association.

The Irish firm Grafton Architects was announced as the winner of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture 2022 (Eu Mies van der Rohe Award) for their project Town House at Kingston University, in London. The office Lacol, in Barcelona, was announced as the Emerging Architecture Winner for La Borda Cooperative Housing.
Professor Amy Kupler was appointed as the new director of the Bartlett School of Architecture at the UCL London. She will replace Bob Shiel on 1 September 2022.
Kupler has taught at the University of Cambridge in the UK, the UCLA, The SCI-Arc, and the University of Michigan in USA. Currently, she is the director of the head of architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design.

African architect Diébédo Francis Kéré has been announced as the winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize 2022, organized by the Pritzker Foundation.
Architect, educator and activist Francis Keré (Burkina Faso, 1965) is the founder and leader of Kéré Architecture, with offices in Berlin, Germany. This distinction makes Francis Kéré the first African architect to obtain this recognition in the history of the Pritzker Prize (Philip Johnson was the first architect to receive it in 1979).

British architect and Pritzker Prize laureate Richard Rogers has passed away at the age of 88, on December 18, 2021.
Rogers was the founding partner of the awarded firm Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, with offices in London, Paris, Sydney, Shanghai, and New York. He was involved in almost all kinds of projects, including Terminal 4 Airport in Madrid, The Lloyd’s Building in London, The Leadenhall Building in London, The Centre Pompidou in Paris, among many others.
Barcelona has been designated as the UNESCO UIA World Capital of Architecture for 2026 and host of the 29th International Union of Architects UIA World Congress.
The city won the competition against its contender Beijing, China by a difference of 18 votes, 147 to 129. Under the slogan «One Today, One Tomorrow» the 2026 UIA World Congress will address the relationship between the city and its architecture as an agent of cultural, social, environmental, and economic impact, in order to point out current challenges and sustainable solutions for the near future.
