Faculty VI Planning Building Environment

Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin)

School Website

The Institute of Architecture (IfA) at Technische Universität Berlin is committed to excellence in both teaching and research. This commitment derives from the fact that architecture is nothing less than the cultural technique that people use to create a livable environment according to needs that differ in nature. With this in mind, architecture comprises the design of all areas of life and by no means ends with the built object. The Institute of Architecture is therefore of great importance, especially for a technical university. Only through being transferred into architecture and an actual building, can different technologies become culturally productive and unfold their effectiveness in everyday life.
